History

Before the existence of any roads linking the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia to Halifax, the main supply routes were via the sea.

Schooners out of Halifax would anchor in the Head of Jeddore and supply the small store located there. Local goods and produce would then be loaded aboard the Schooners for shipment on to Halifax and other parts of Nova Scotia

The store no longer operates and the Schooners have long since gone.

To remember the historic significance, the road to the sea, formerly known as "Old West Jeddore Road" and "Maskell Court" has been renamed "Schooner Landing".

The final portion of the road (formerly Maskell Court), is private property and is the home to Schooner Landing B&B and Cottage

Schooner Landing is located in the Western arm of the Head of Jeddore I will add more history of the surrounding area and its people as I learn it!
